Support for Professional Organisations
The Pasifika Medical Association (PMA) is committed to strengthening the Pacific Health workforce in New Zealand, building on the work that the association has undertaken in the past 15 years.
PMA has a core function to progress and develop the capacity and capability of its membership which is made up of the largest group of Pacific health professionals anywhere in the Southern Hemisphere.
PMA also front the ‘Professional Organisations’ group, (where eight organisations including The Pasifika Medical Association, Aotearoa Tongan Health Workers Association, Cook Islands Health Network, Tongan Nurses Association of New Zealand, Samoan Nurses Association of New Zealand, Pasifikology, Fiji Nurses Association, Tokelau Nurses and Health Workers Association of New Zealand Inc) have come together as one to share ideas, network and form a collaborative voice to provide quality health services to strengthen the Pacific health workforce. The main aim of the Professional Organisations is ‘to contribute to the sustainability of Pacific Health providers in New Zealand through delivering quality health services that are responsive to the needs of the communities th
